The implementation of these standards is aimed at improving the overall quality of healthcare services in the region and ensuring that patients receive the best possible care.

  • The Punjab Healthcare Commission has a range of responsibilities aimed at improving the quality of healthcare services in the region. These responsibilities include maintaining a register of all healthcare service providers, granting, renewing, and revoking licenses, and collecting related fees. The Commission also monitors and enforces the implementation of Minimum Service Delivery Standards (MSDS) in healthcare establishments, and investigates incidents of malpractice, medical negligence, and system failures.

  • In addition, the Commission advocates for the rights and responsibilities of both healthcare service providers and recipients, and takes action to prevent harassment of healthcare providers or damage to healthcare establishments. The Commission also works to promote capacity-building and organizational learning among healthcare establishments and conducts awareness activities to educate the public about healthcare-related issues.

  • Furthermore, the Commission grades healthcare establishments, takes necessary measures to ban quackery, and conducts independent performance audits of healthcare establishments through third-party evaluations.
